A PODIUM-FINISH FOR RAPHAËL LESSARD DURING THE GOVERNOR'S CUP!

november 12, 2018

New Smyrna, Florida, November 12, 2018 - Raphaël Lessard clinched a 3rd place finish during the 53rd running of the Governor's Cup on November 11th, taking place on the @newsmyrnaspeedway in Florida. Lessard was starting this 200-lap race from the second place amongst 21 cars in Super Late Model (SLM).

Raphaël Lessard, behind the wheel of his Toyota Camry #81 FRL Express/MS-Sim Toyota of Anthony Campi Racing (ACR81) battled in the Top 3 for the first half of the race, up until the 97th lap. However, the Toyota Racing Development (TRD) driver felt back to 6th, before climbing up to the third position after a hard-fought battle with the #20 of Anthony Sergi.

"I am thrilled with the experience; it was a new team; a new car and the transition went great." Said Raphaël. "We had a fast car all weekend, but we were missing some speed at the end. However, I was able to find an outside line that worked well and allowed me to grab the third position. If the race had lasted a few laps more, I could have caught up with the leaders. I am still very happy with the result. I want to thank FRL Express, Toyota, my parents, my family, the investors and all of those who came to see the race and my fans."

Raphaël's next and final race of the season will be December 2nd at the 5 Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida, for the prestigious Snowball Derby. He will be attending the race with Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) and his usual Toyota Camry #51 FRL Express/ Mobil 1/ Toyota. It's a race not to miss!
